Federal Govt, Bauchi in Partnership to Improve School Security

The Federal and Bauchi state governments have decided to effect policies to enhance the security of schools as soon as possible.

The agreement was made during a meeting in Bauchi between Dr. Jamila Mohammed Dahiru, the State Commissioner for Education, and Comrade Sunday Asefon, the senior special assistant to the president on students' engagement.

According to a statement released by the information officer of the State Ministry of Education, Jalaludeen Usman, Comrade Sunday Asefon visited the ministry to work with them on strengthening the security architecture in schools and to emphasise the value of the Safe Schools Initiative in providing a secure learning environment for students.

Dr. Jamila Dahiru responded by reiterating that all hands must be on deck especially when it comes to the security of school children.

In the statement, Dr. Jamila expressed her gratitude to Comrade Sunday Asefon's team for their efforts in raising awareness of student safety nationwide.
