Gbadamosi Azeezah

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has concluded the registration process for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with a record-breaking 2,030,627 candidates successfully registering to participate in the exam scheduled for April 25, 2025.

The registration period, which commenced on February 3, 2025, was strictly adhered to, with no extensions granted beyond the March 8, 2025, deadline.

As preparations for the UTME are now underway, JAMB has emphasized its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process. The board has implemented several measures to prevent cheating, including a system designed to detect fraudulent practices such as the use of forged A-level results.

This proactive approach has already led to the arrest of several candidates attempting to engage in such dishonest activities.

In addition to the main UTME, a number of candidates have expressed interest in the optional mock UTME, set for April 5, 2025. Specifically, 200,115 candidates have registered for this mock exam, with 630 candidates also signing up for the trial mock examination on the same date.

The mock exam is intended to familiarize candidates with the examination format and system.

JAMB has reiterated the importance of candidates adhering to the examination rules and regulations, urging them to refrain from any form of dishonest practice during the exam.
