In collaboration with the Federal Government of Nigeria, Wema Bank, the most innovative bank in Nigeria and the creator of ALAT, the continent's first fully digital bank, has announced that the FGN/ALAT Digital Skillnovation Programme for MSMEs will begin virtual training on November 27, 2023.

Since its September 2023 launch, the program has received an incredible amount of interest from hundreds of thousands of working-class professionals, job seekers, and business owners who want to improve their employability, expand their knowledge of business management, and develop their digital skills.

The goal of the FGN/ALAT Digital Skillnovation Programme for MSMEs is to equip 1,000,000 MSMEs (micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises) and 2,000,000 Nigerian youth with a wide range of digital skills. Software engineering, product management, cloud computing, business analysis, and product design are a few of these competencies. Candidates for the FGN/ALAT Digital Skillnovation Program should expect a comprehensive experience that goes beyond virtual learning because they will participate in practical instruction delivered at state-of-the-art digital hubs that are thoughtfully placed around the country.

Wema Bank's MD/CEO, Moruf Oseni, announced the start of the first cohort of 270,000 participants in the virtual training program. He emphasized the program's transformative potential for professionals, job seekers, business owners, and aspiring entrepreneurs throughout Nigeria.

“Beyond mere skill acquisition, this programme is set to create a ripple effect of socioeconomic benefits across the nation. By empowering our youth, we are not just fostering individual successes; we are investing in the broader narrative of national progress, promoting job creation, boosting innovation, and paving the way for a more prosperous future.

With an e-commerce platform, entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to present their goods and services to a larger audience. They will also be able to book exhibition spaces at significant domestic and international trade shows. Participants, particularly entrepreneurs, can take advantage of various funding opportunities made available through the program to support the expansion and scalability of their businesses.

It further stated that the call for entries was still open and that interested parties could apply to join the program at https://fg-skillnovation.alat.ng/ and access their dashboard for the virtual training at https://fgnalat.getfundedafrica.com/portal/ by using their email address as the username and the case-sensitive password "Login."
