The Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, chaired by Taiwo Oyedele, has kicked off public engagements on fiscal and tax reforms, which commenced in Lagos on Thursday.

The committee plans to engage stakeholders in Lagos and Abuja as part of its efforts to review the National Tax Policy comprehensively. The Lagos session took place on Thursday, May 2, and will be followed by another in Abuja on May 6, under the theme "Proposed Changes to the National Tax Policy, Tax Laws, and Administration."

These engagements are aimed at soliciting feedback from stakeholders regarding proposed reforms to the nation's tax system. The government anticipates that these reforms will stimulate economic growth and enhance revenue collection.

"In line with our ongoing fiscal and tax reforms and drawing from insights gleaned through consultations and public engagements, we are in the process of revising our National Tax Policy," stated the tax expert.
