EHA Clinics, a prominent primary healthcare provider in Nigeria, is taking a major step towards enhancing healthcare access in the country. In a strategic move unanimously approved by the eHealth Africa (eHA) Board of Directors, EHA Clinics is receiving a $2 million investment from eHA and a generous donation of $112,000. This significant financial boost aims to bridge the gap in healthcare access and improve the quality of medical services available to the Nigerian population.
During a recent board meeting, Evelyn Castle, Chairperson of the eHealth Africa Board of Directors, reaffirmed the organization's commitment to advancing healthcare in Nigeria. She expressed her delight in allocating the funds to strengthen and enhance the operations of EHA Clinics, thereby benefiting thousands of individuals across the nation.
"The increased investment from eHA in EHA Clinics represents an endorsement of our clinic's exceptional performance and unwavering dedication to delivering superior healthcare services," said Castle. Over the past five years, EHA Clinics has demonstrated unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive and compassionate primary healthcare services. They have achieved this by leveraging innovative technology solutions and employing a skilled medical workforce.
Paul Hogan, Chief Operations Officer of EHA Clinics Limited, highlighted the positive impact of the $2 million investment. He explained that the additional funding would enable the expansion of capacity, improvement of infrastructure, and upgrading of facilities across EHA Clinics' five branches. The investment will bolster their primary healthcare services, ensuring that even more individuals have access to quality medical care, diagnostic services, and treatment options throughout Nigeria.
The generous $112,000 donation will be dedicated to supporting EHA Clinics' community health program, REACH. Since its establishment in 2019, the REACH program has already positively impacted over 7,000 families in underserved communities. By 2024, EHA Clinics aims to extend the program's reach to benefit 20,000 families. The newly established REACH primary healthcare hubs in Abuja and Kano are projected to serve an average of 300 customers daily, with 100 individuals receiving in-person care and others accessing virtual consultations through EHA Care, the digital health platform.
Hogan added, "Through this generous contribution, the REACH program will complete the facility set up and early operational cost of the newly established REACH hubs in Abuja and Kano, Nigeria."
Leveraging technology and community-focused initiatives, EHA Clinics and eHealth Africa are united in their mission to revolutionize healthcare delivery in Nigeria. Through collaborative efforts, they promise to continue bridging healthcare access gaps and provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to all Nigerians. This investment and donation will play a pivotal role in advancing healthcare services and contributing to improved health outcomes in the country.
