This announcement was made by Dr. Devakumar Edwin, Vice President of Oil and Gas at Dangote Industries Limited, during a recent visit from a delegation of the Japanese Business Community in Nigeria, led by Ambassador-designate Suzuki Hideo.

Dr. Edwin highlighted that the refinery has not only exported petrol but also diesel and jet fuel to international markets, particularly Europe.

He emphasized the refinery's role in utilizing Africa's crude oil resources to foster local production of refined products, aiming to stimulate industrial growth, job creation, and economic prosperity across the continent.

The facility, envisioned by Nigerian entrepreneur Aliko Dangote and constructed by local engineers, stands as the largest single-train refinery globally. Dr. Edwin expressed pride in this achievement, noting that it showcases Nigeria's capabilities on a global scale.

He reassured the visiting delegation of Dangote's commitment to maintaining high standards and fostering collaborations, particularly with Japan's advanced technology sector.

Ambassador Hideo praised the Dangote Refinery as a remarkable demonstration of Nigeria's technological progress. The Japanese delegation toured the facility and commended its state-of-the-art technology, reinforcing Nigeria’s strategic position as a key player in Africa’s energy landscape.

Furthermore, Takashi Oku, Managing Director of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), remarked on the significance of the refinery for Nigeria’s economic development and its potential to enhance regional energy security.

He further expressed eagerness for collaboration with Nigerian companies.

Masahiro Tsuno, Managing Director of Itochu Nigeria Limited, also lauded the refinery's impressive scale and automation, describing it as a "miracle" in the global refining industry. He indicated intentions for collaboration across various sectors related to petroleum products.
