A Kenyan court found a Venezuelan diplomat guilty on Wednesday of killing the Latin American country's acting ambassador ten years ago at her official house in Nairobi, the nation's capital.

The first secretary of the Venezuelan embassy, Dwight Sagaray, was convicted of killing Olga Fonseca on July 27, 2012.

Along with Mr. Sagaray, three other Kenyan nationals were prosecuted. They were all found guilty.

Following Venezuela's lifting of the diplomat's diplomatic immunity, he was put on trial for the murder.

According to Reuters, the court determined that Mr. Sagaray was in charge of the mission prior to Ms. Fonseca's entrance and was enraged by her presence because he wanted to keep running the embassy.

Less than two weeks after beginning her new position in Nairobi on July 15, Ms. Fonseca, 57, passed away.
