Sadio Mane, a winger for Bayern Munich, has spoken out about punching Leroy Sane, a teammate, last season.

After Bayern Munich's 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the Champions League in April at the Etihad Stadium, Mane got into a fight with Sane and punched him in the face.

When his Bayern Munich teammates intervened to separate the pair in the tunnel, Sane was left with a bloodied lip.

Bayern later fined Mane £250,000 and gave him a one-game suspension, the largest in the club's history.

The former Liverpool player has since thought back on what happened.

He said: “This kind of thing can happen. It happened. We were able to solve this small problem.

He added, “Sometimes it’s good to solve problems, but maybe not in this way. It’s behind us now.

“We’ll try to fight together to help the club achieve its goals next season.”

Mane relocated last summer from Liverpool to Bayern Munich.

This summer, the 31-year-old has been mentioned in connection with a transfer away from the Bundesliga champions.
