Police Trailing Abductors of Osun Couple

SP Yemisi Opalola, the spokesperson for the state police command, stated that the couple was taken around 5 a.m. along the Osogbo-Iragbiji road, confirming their abduction.

A manhunt has been launched by the police in Osun state in search of the couple who were taken from them.

Last weekend, it was learned that armed herdsmen kidnapped a couple from the Osogbo axis and forced them into the bush along the Osogbo-Iragbiji road. The couple was headed to Iragbiji from the Osogbo axis when they were routed by the herdsmen in a village before Iragbiji.

Around fourteen days prior, drivers were abducted by furnished herders along a similar course and were subsequently safeguarded by security agents.

SP Yemisi Opalola, the spokesperson for the state police command, stated that the couple was taken around 5 a.m. along the Osogbo-Iragbiji road, confirming their abduction.

“Preliminary investigation showed that the abductors barricaded the road and forcefully stopped the couple and took them away.

“Presently, security operatives are on search and rescue mission in the bush around the places through to Obokun area with a view to rescuing the victims and arrest the culprit”, she added.
