Three suspects have been captured for killing of an 85-year-old rancher distinguished as Wonder Taiwo in Ekiti State.

The trio of Ogunlusi Damilola, Olorunsola Segun, and Sekoni Tunde, were said to represent considerable authority in going after ranchers and taking their farm produce.

They were captured on 13/07/2023 at around 1400hrs, by theState Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) upon a protest held up against them.

The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP Sunday Abutu, in a statement in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, said: " During cross examination the suspects admitted that on 12/07/2023 at around 1700hrs, they went to the complainant's farm arranged off lyin-Ado express street, lyin-Ekiti, went after him with blade and trucked away a few tubers of sweet potato.

"They further admitted that on the 27/06/2023, they entered one more ranch settlement at Ipole-Ekiti where one Wonderment Taiwo Julius 'm' was caused with serious wounds and ten tubers of sweet potato were trucked away simultaneously."

Abutu added that the 85-year-old Julius later kicked the bucket while getting treatment at Ekiti State Showing Clinic, Ado-Ekiti.
