The legendary former player for the Ghana Black Stars, Abedi Pele, together with his family, went to sympathize with the Twasam family of the late Christian Atsu.

The remains of the late footballer were found, and the foreign affairs ministry arranged for them to be flown into his home country, Ghana. The body arrived at the Terminal 2 VIP section of the Kotoka International Airport at 7:30 p.m.

The family has returned to their home to receive condolence visits from loved ones of their deceased relative, Christian Atsu.

The Vice President of Ghana, the Minister of Information, the Deputy Minister of Sports, the deceased's external family, military leaders, religious leaders, and many other dignitaries were present to receive the remains of the late Ghanaian footballer.

An earthquake struck Turkey on February 6, 2023, where Ghanaian player Christian Atsu was in an apartment that collapsed due to the earthquake.

After several search, the body of the late footballer was found on Saturday, February 18, 2023.
