John Okafor, alias Mr. Ibu, a renowned Nollywood actor, has shared his memories of the just ended election campaigns.
The actor described how he was mistreated by gangs while campaigning for his favored candidate. The actor claimed to be partially involved in politics.
He was featured in a recent Vanguard TV interview.
Okafor said: “Nigerian politics [laughs]. Partially, I was involved o. The only thing different is that there were some situations where there was thuggery.
“Where we went to campaign, I received slaps from people that I don’t even know.
“I collected like three or four slaps, free, from other boys. ‘Why did you come here? Before I answer that question, gbosa! You won’t even like the sound of the slap because the people that are slapping are idiots because their slap is not human,” he recalled.
About his extended departure from the industry, Mr. Ibu stated that his return film was already in production but that filming had to be postponed due to the present political climate in the nation.
