To forward its mission for digital transformation, The Nigerian Exchange Ltd. (NGX) has established the NGX Digital and Technology Products Advisory Panel (The Panel).
This development by the Exchange is contained in a statement released on Tuesday in Lagos by Mr. Clifford Akpolo, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, NGX.
According to the statement, the panel would give the Exchange a platform to communicate with the capital market industry and the fintech ecosystem in order to improve and expand NGX's selection of digital products.
The statement reveals that the panel's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, offering insight into product innovation and formulating ideas for methods to boost the number of technology listings on NGX. Additionally, it entails formulating suggestions for increasing data and digital market liquidity, offering thought leadership by producing white papers, developing frameworks, and making recommendations, as well as a variety of advisory issues like market trends, risks, and sentiments.
According to Dr. Olufemi Oyenuga, the Chief Digital Officer of NGX, technology, and innovation are the factors behind success, and the Exchange is devoted to utilizing them. Both will turn the Exchange into a capital market leader in product creation.
With the committee now in place, he claimed, "we are ready to explore new frontiers, pool cutting-edge ideas and methods, and unleash tremendous potential for the future while addressing creativity, innovation, and sustainability."
In December 2022, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) gave its approval to the listing requirements for the NGX Technology Board, and the committee's formation is a continuing effort to expand NGX's capabilities within the technological ecosystem.
Tope Kola-Oyeneyin (McKinsey), Iyin Aboyeji (Future Africa), Kola Aina (Ventures Platform), Idris Saliu (Ceviant), and Fope Adelowo have been appointed to the panel (Helios Group).
Other names include Adedeji Olowe, Wale Ayeni, Ahmad Zuaiter, Richmond Bassey, Tayo Oviosu, and Jadara Capital Partners LLC's Ahmad Zuaiter (LendsQr).
