An expert in technology, Dr. Godwin Asogbon, has called for a comprehensive review of Nigeria's cybersecurity policies to better protect citizens' financial transactions.

Speaking at the Annual Retreat for Finance and Account Officers in Lagos State health facilities, Asogbon emphasized the urgency of this review during his lecture on “Cyber Security and Internet Safety, on Accounts and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).”

Asogbon, who is the Managing Director of Globatech World Professionals, highlighted that as government activities increasingly shift online, public servants must be vigilant about potential cyber-attack vulnerabilities.

He warned that lapses in cybersecurity could expose sensitive information of civil servants, posing significant risks to government operations. "These vulnerabilities could create avenues for cyber-attacks," he stated, adding that breaches could severely disrupt governmental functions.

In his keynote address, Dr. Ademuyiwa Eniayewun, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Health Service Commission, urged accountants to manage health finances judiciously.

He stressed the importance of ensuring that funds are spent effectively to support hospital growth and improve healthcare services.
