Jameson, an Irish whiskey brand owned by Pernod Ricard, has announced plans to eliminate outer packaging from its product branding in an effort to reduce its carbon footprint and promote sustainability.
The move, which is part of Pernod Ricard Nigeria's broader sustainability strategy, will significantly decrease the amount of paper and cardboard used in the production process, resulting in a more eco-friendly packaging solution.
By removing the carton casing, Jameson aims to minimize waste, conserve natural resources, and align with its commitment to environmental responsibility.
Michael Ehindero, Managing Director of Pernod Ricard Nigeria, stated that the company is mindful of the environmental impact of its business activities and is constantly exploring ways to reduce its carbon footprint, promote environmentally friendly practices, and encourage sustainable consumption.
This initiative is part of Pernod Ricard Nigeria's efforts to reduce energy consumption, waste, and emissions across all its brands, with the ultimate goal of making a positive impact on the environment and promoting sustainable development in Nigeria.
