Elon Musk, the prominent tech entrepreneur and advisor to President Donald Trump, has expressed skepticism regarding the recently announced artificial intelligence initiative known as Stargate.

This initiative, which aims to invest $500 billion in AI infrastructure over the next four years, was unveiled by Trump shortly after he repealed a previous executive order aimed at regulating AI technologies.

Musk criticized the initiative on social media, asserting that it lacks the necessary funding to achieve its ambitious goals. He stated, "They don’t actually have the money".

This statement is particularly striking, given Musk's close ties to Trump's administration and his previous support for the president.

Stargate represents a significant collaboration between major players in the tech industry, including OpenAI—co-founded by Musk before a public falling out with its current leadership—SoftBank, and Oracle.

The initiative is designed to bolster the United States' position in the global AI landscape by constructing advanced data centers and enhancing technological capabilities.

However, it has also drawn criticism from privacy advocates and security experts who emphasize the need for transparency and accountability in AI development, especially following the rollback of regulatory measures established under former President Joe Biden.
