Tyson Luke Fury, a former world heavyweight champion, has revealed his retirement from boxing weeks after his second loss to Oleksandr Usyk.

The Manchester-born boxer captioned the short video shared to his Instagram account to announce his decision. “Thanks to everyone who helped out along the way! Happy New Year. Jesus is king now and forever.”

“Thanks; it’s been a blast. I enjoyed every minute of it,” he added.

According to journalists, he had made public his retirement so many times before today. Fury revealed he was quitting after beating Dillian Whyte in April 2022 but returned to action the same year.

Fury lost his last fight to Usyk by unanimous decision in December 2024, and it now means the expected fight against Anthony Joshua would no longer hold.

When Fury was asked after the Usyk fight if the public would see him fight again, Fury replied, “You might do; you might not do. Who knows?”

He was heavyweight champion and retired with a record of 34 wins, two defeats, and one draw.

In 2018, his drawn fight against Deontay Wilder was named Round of the Year and earned him Comeback of the Year by The Ring.

Similarly, in 2021, his trilogy fight against Wilder was named Fight of the Year by The Ring.
