

According to reports from Turkey, former Arsenal playmaker Mesut Özil is set to retire from football after his contract with Istanbul Başakşehir was terminated.
The 2014 World Cup winner has played in Turkey since January 2021 when he left Arsenal to join Fenerbache, whose club he represented in July last year.
Sources indicate that Özil has informed teammates he will not be looking for another club and is considering a career in E-Sports.
The German international represented his country 92 times, scoring 23 goals, and was part of the team that won the 2014 World Cup.
During his illustrious career, he represented Schalke 04, Werder Bremen, and Real Madrid aside the aforementioned clubs, most notably winning La Liga and the FA Cup.
His current appearance total stands at 598 club games and 98 club goals.
