The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, greeted the Nigerian women's national team (Super Falcons) at the State House in Aso Rock.

A widely circulated photo on social media captured the Super Falcons team in a group picture with the First Lady on Monday, August 13.

Their visit followed their participation in the ongoing FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia, where they reached the round of 16 before being eliminated by the English Women's team.

During the group stages of the tournament, Nigeria remained undefeated, triumphing over the host nation Australia and achieving two draws against Ireland and Canada.

The Super Falcons have consistently participated in every FIFA Women's World Cup since its inception in 1991. Their performance in Australia marks the team's most remarkable achievement in the tournament to date.

In a similar vein, Nigeria's women's basketball team, D'Tigress, also had the honor of meeting First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on Monday, August 7, 2023. The President's wife welcomed D'Tigress following their victory in the 2023 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Championship, hailing their exceptional achievement.

These commendable interactions followed President Bola Tinubu's recognition of the Super Falcons' outstanding performance, despite their loss to England.
