Brazil played Guinea in a friendly international on Saturday wearing an all-black jersey as a protest against racism in place of their traditional yellow and green jerseys.
The team made this decision in solidarity with Vinicius Junior, a Brazilian striker for Real Madrid Who has been a victim of numerous racial taunts this season.
The game is being played in Barcelona at Espanyol's 40,000-seat stadium, where Brazil's attacking line is led by 22-year-old Vinicius and his Real Madrid teammate Rodrygo.
Except for goalkeepers, this is the first time in Brazil's history that they have donned all-black outfits.
"Com racismo nao tem jogo" (With racism, there is no game) is the campaign's catchphrase, and it is supported by the Brazilian Football Confederation.
The Spanish and Brazilian football federations announced earlier this week their intention to play a friendly match at the Santiago Bernabeu in March 2024 to combat racism in response to the abuse of Vinicius Junior that sparked anger throughout the world.
