In a remote session led by Justice Ezekiel Ajayi, the tribunal declared Emmanuel Ombudagu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the rightful winner of the election. Among the three judges, two concurred that the PDP had indeed won, while one judge expressed a dissenting opinion.
Justice Ezekiel maintained that the petitioner, Emmanuel Ombudagu, successfully substantiated his case beyond any reasonable doubt. Notably, ex-Governors Abdullahi Adamu and Tanko Al-makura, alongside other political dignitaries, were present at the court during this significant ruling.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) previously declared Abdullahi Sule as the victor of the Nasarawa State governorship election in March.
According to Prof Ishaya Tanko, the INEC returning officer, the APC candidate garnered a total of 347,209 votes, surpassing his closest contender, David Ombugadu, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 283,016 votes.
