The Labour Party's 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has hinted at the possibility of leaving the party before the 2027 elections. He made this revelation while engaging with his supporters on his Verified X space hosted by Parallel Facts yesterday.

The former Governor of Anambra State emphasized his dedication to his primary goal, which is to make Nigeria better for all citizens, a vision embraced by committed members of the Obidient Movement. He expressed his refusal to be swayed by distractions, including the orchestrated crisis within the Labour Party.

Obi stressed that their focus is on improving Nigeria, not on the Labour Party. He highlighted pressing issues such as water, power, employment, and security as their main concerns.

Referencing a biblical analogy, Obi likened his approach to that of Jesus, who advised followers to try to change a city but not to die with them if unsuccessful. He asserted his commitment to changing the Labour Party but declared that he would not perish with it if his efforts prove futile.

Obi concluded by affirming that their mission will proceed regardless of the outcome with the Labour Party.
