The ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has faced a significant setback as the All Progressives Congress (APC) welcomed Chief Bamidele Onifade, the Elemo Aga of Ikirun, and his loyalists in Irepodun Local Government.

The defectors include Chief Bamidele Onifade, Oladosun Kamorudeen (also known as Ultimate), Wasiu Oluaye, and their supporters. During a ceremony in Ikirun on Wednesday, Osun APC Chairman Hon. Tajudeen Lawal expressed his gratitude, stating that he had prayed for this outcome and was overjoyed by the arrival of Chief Onifade and his followers.

Chief Bamidele Onifade expressed his appreciation to the APC Chairman for the warm welcome and urged everyone to participate in politics for the nation's progress.

He assured that his team from all 13 wards in Ifelodun local government is ready to support the APC. "I joined the APC without faction; my team and I are united. I align myself with the Party and President Tinubu for the nation's progress."

Another defector, Oladosun Kamorudeen, declared that the PDP had failed in Osun State and announced that nearly 100 people from the PDP had joined APC for progress. "The Oluomo of Ikirun is now an APC member," he added.

Wasiu Oluaye also addressed the gathering, stating his return to APC and urging party members to unite. He expressed regret for previously supporting PDP, describing it as a failure.

The event featured notable APC leaders, including Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal Sooko, Women Leader Alhaja Kudirat Fakokinde, Youth Leader Comrade Goke Akinwemimo, and several Ifelodun leaders.

The atmosphere was lively, with music from the popular band led by Alhaja Monsurat Asikomitito.
