The governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke's spokesperson, has stated that his principal did not forge any certificates.
In a statement obtained in Osogbo on Tuesday, Rasheed stated that the clarification was required due to a portion of the Osun Election Petitions Tribunal's judgment alleging forgery against Adeleke.
He said that the public ought to be aware that neither his testimonial nor any certificate was forged, describing the claim as an attempt to harm the governor's reputation.
The statement read in part. "We seek to clarify a very sinister component of the Kangaroo judgment on Osun Governorship election.
No certificate or testimonial was forged by Governor Ademola Adeleke. An error on a school testimonial that shows Osun rather than Oyo State is the source of the problem with forgery. When Governor Adeleke completed his high school education in 1981, Osun State was still a part of Oyo State.”
“In 2018, the issuing school testified in front of the Court of Appeal that it was their error, and that Governor Adeleke had nothing to do with it. Governor Adeleke was cleared of any wrongdoing by the Court of Appeal, which found that there was no forgery.
The public ought to be aware that neither this testimonial nor any other certificate was forged by Governor Adeleke. This was an attempt to harm Governor Adeleke's reputation. When the Court of Appeal found Governor Adeleke not guilty of forgery, the chairman of the tribunal ought to explain how he arrived at his conclusion”
