The Osun State House of Assembly has instructed the immediate suspension of the ongoing staff audit for Osun State Government workers, managed by Sally Tibbot Consulting. The announcement was made in a statement by Olamide Tiamiyu, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, and was received in Osogbo on Monday.
The audit process experienced disruptions, including a recent clash between the consultant, Sa’adat Bakrin-Ottun, and Osun State University staff during a verification exercise.
Tiamiyu noted that the decision to halt the audit stemmed from an emergency meeting held by the lawmakers in response to the petitions lodged against the consultant. The Speaker has established an ad-hoc committee to investigate these petitions and formulate appropriate recommendations.
According to the statement, "The Osun State House of Assembly has directed Sally Tibbot Consulting, the firm overseeing the staff audit of State Government employees, to suspend the procedure until further notice. Speaker Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun conveyed the House's directive to the press on Monday after an emergency session with fellow Honourable members to assess the petitions addressed to the Osun State House of Assembly."
"The Speaker has also formed an ad-hoc committee to delve into the matters raised in the petitions and provide necessary suggestions."
"As a result, all pertinent stakeholders are invited to convene at the House of Assembly for a meeting on Tuesday, August 22nd, at 10:00 am punctually."
