The governor of the state, Senator Ademola Adeleke, does not possess the necessary qualifications to lead a complex state like Osun, which is rife with upwardly mobile individuals according to a statement made on Monday by the All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter in Osun State,
In a statement in Osogbo, the party chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, argued that there is nothing to indicate that Adeleke's administration is ready to add value to the state because those who have been running the government for him are more interested in the immediate monetary gains that can be derived from it than they are in rendering selfless services that would be beneficial to the people of the state in the long run.
"The governor is not imbued with the leadership qualities that have been making him miss every one of his steps in the policy-making since his ascension to power as the state governor on November 27th, 2022," he asserts.
Lawal asked Adeleke if he was concerned that his administration had brought widespread insecurity to the state, making it a breeding ground for notorious political thugs who would attack and kill their victims, most of whom were members of the opposition APC, at any time.
He maintained, however, that because he cannot steer the state's ship, belligerence, militancy, and propaganda cannot help him out of his political predicament.
The Acting State APC Chairman who marked the Adeleke administration's script informed him that it has failed to meet its statutory obligation to protect people's lives and property, regardless of their political leanings, since he took over.
He observed that the abundance of information suggesting that the Adeleke family's Ede country home has evolved into a haven for political thugs who have been operating unhindered throughout the state was troubling and worrying.
Lawal stated that the tone of all of the governor's aides' remarks are offensive, dictatorial, abusive, combative, and non-explanatory, all of which have no place in a democratic administration, and that there has been nothing to suggest that the Adeleke administration understands or runs a democratic government.
The state chairman of the APC advised Adeleke that it would be counterproductive for him to use thugs to oppress, suppress, and subjugate the opposition because history has demonstrated that the same thugs will eventually consume their paymaster.
Lawal, who reminded Adeleke and the PDP that too many cooks spoil the soup, wondered what his government was doing with 300 media aides who have been working at odds and have succeeded in embarrassing his government due to their lack of engagement guidelines.
Since the government claimed to have inherited an empty Treasury, he also wondered where the money needed to pay these assistants would come from.
He asserted that, rather than educating citizens about the government's policies and explaining them to them, Adeleke's media associates were outdoing one another by insulting and verbally attacking those who longed for an understanding.
Lawal noted that Adeleke's approach to governance is pedestrian, nauseating, and archaic, implying that his party, the APC, is aware that it is nearly impossible to give what one does not possess.
The chairman of the APC questioned Adeleke regarding the explanations for his administration's inability to successfully distribute 40 bags of rice to each ward across the state in honor of the previous Christmas and New Year's celebrations.
He disclosed that, shockingly, a fact-check revealed that only five bags of rice were delivered to each ward, and the remaining 35 bags per ward fell into the hands of the PDP political vampires, who had been in power for 12 years.
Lawal wondered why, if a government is serious, has a mission, or has a vision, it would think about drilling 332 boreholes in the state, one for each ward, without considering the environmental risk it intends to create during its 100 days in office.
