Former Minister of Defence, and National Leader of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP), Sen. Musa Kwankwaso, says the military has the capacity to end the security challenges facing the country, if given the necessary motivation.

In an interview with reporters soon after the Abuja meeting of the NEC, Kwankwaso stated that while the Federal Government was responsible for handling the security issue, Nigerians also had a key role to play in helping security services by providing essential information.

As a former minister of defence, an eight-year chief security officer of Kano State, and someone who has travelled about and been thoroughly exposed in the political game, he stated that he believes the federal government should now be in charge of handling the security situation. And everybody must work together to make sure there is peace in the country.

The NNPP 2023 presidential candidate claimed that his party had the solution to deal with the issue and other difficulties the Country was facing, If given the chance by Nigerians.

He claimed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) had failed the people of Nigeria and that the NNPP was their only chance.
