Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has publicly urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene regarding the actions of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.

During a press conference, Adeleke accused Oyetola of attempting to create chaos in the state by allegedly orchestrating a plan to enforce a court ruling that would reinstate local government chairmen previously dismissed by judicial decisions.

Adeleke expressed concern that Oyetola was collaborating with state security officials to implement what he described as an unlawful directive.

He emphasized that the council chairmen were removed from office prior to his assumption of governorship and asserted that any claims suggesting otherwise were misleading. The governor's remarks were framed as a warning to both the public and the international community about potential unrest if Oyetola's actions continued unchecked.

In response, Oyetola dismissed Adeleke's allegations, defending his record as a law-abiding leader and asserting that he had never resorted to violence during his tenure as governor. He characterized Adeleke's claims as unfounded and suggested that anyone making such accusations should reconsider their perspective.

The tension stems from a recent Court of Appeal ruling that allowed an appeal from the local government chairmen affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC), which has led to disputes over their reinstatement. Adeleke contended that the court did not issue any orders for their return, while Oyetola argued for adherence to the court's decisions.

Both political figures have called on President Tinubu to uphold the rule of law, with Adeleke urging him to ensure that security forces do not carry out what he considers illegal orders from Oyetola.
