The Federal Government Palliatives Committee for Kano State, led by Deputy Senate President Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has pledged that the 23,644 bags of 25kg rice allocated to the state will be distributed fairly and equitably to those in need.

During a meeting held at the National Assembly, the committee, which includes representatives from various political parties, as well as religious and traditional leaders, finalized comprehensive plans to ensure that the palliatives reach the most vulnerable populations across Kano’s 44 local government areas.

Senator Barau emphasized the importance of transparency and fairness in the distribution process. "We have put in place detailed measures to ensure that these essential supplies reach those who need them most," he said.

The senator added that beneficiaries would be identified through valid identification processes to prevent any form of bias or misallocation. The committee has also committed to maintaining thorough documentation of the distribution, ensuring that every bag of rice is accounted for.

The distribution of the rice is expected to begin shortly, with local leaders playing a key role in overseeing the process within their communities. The initiative has been welcomed by many in Kano, who see it as a crucial lifeline during these challenging times.

The Federal Government and the Palliatives Committee continue to urge residents to cooperate fully with the distribution teams to facilitate a smooth and orderly process.
