The murder of a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun, Mr. Tunde Ejoka, by unknown assailants, has been condemned by the Southwest wing of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC).
On Wednesday, Ejoka was killed at his residence in Ijebu-Jesa, the state's headquarters for the Ori-Ade Local Government Area.
In a statement released on Friday by his media aide, Mr. Dayo Joseph, chairman of IPAC in the southwest Mr. Wale Adebayo called the murder "outrageous and barbaric."
The killing is abhorrent. Adebayo stated, "We can only appeal to security agencies to accelerate their surveillance and do the necessary." "It is man against man."
Adebayo urged political gladiators and stakeholders to avoid thuggery and violence prior to, during, and after elections to prevent political turbulence.
He demanded that the federal government take the necessary steps to ensure that the March 11 elections for governorship and the House of Assembly were free, fair, and trustworthy.
Adebayo also instructed members of the general public to be on the lookout for suspicious behavior and to report it to security agencies.
