In a recent interview that has sparked widespread reactions, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, Nigeria's former Minister of Aviation, delivered a critique of the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Speaking to the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation in a 40-minute segment that aired across the Middle East, Fani-Kayode drew parallels between the plight of the Palestinian people and what Nigerians might experience under similar circumstances.

"If the people of my country Nigeria had been subjected to the barbarity that Gaza has been subjected to by any foreign power and occupation force, we would have fought an unending war and we would have fought them into the sea because it is human nature to do so," Fani-Kayode stated, emphasizing the intensity of resistance he believes would arise in Nigeria under such conditions.

He went on to challenge the global narrative around Hamas, the militant group governing Gaza, questioning whether people would condemn or join such a movement if faced with the same conditions.

"You say Hamas is evil and are terrorists but would you not have joined Hamas if you were subjected to what the people of Gaza have been subjected to?" he asked, suggesting that the relentless pressure on Gaza might force people into extreme measures.

Fani-Kayode also issued a stark warning about the broader implications of the conflict, suggesting that Israeli actions under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could escalate into a global crisis.

"Netanyahu and Israel are knocking on the door of WW3!" he declared, pointing to the potentially catastrophic consequences of the ongoing violence. The interview, which was broadcast last week, has been watched by millions across the Middle East and has ignited discussions both in Nigeria and internationally.
