The Osun State Government has declared what it plans to host the 2023 annual Valentine’s Day Celebration.

In a circular sent to the Secretary of the State Government, Chief of Staff, and all state ministries, the government made this known.

K. N. Akintola, Osun Head of Service, signed the circular dated 10 February 2023.

In part, it says: On Tuesday, February 14, 2023, the White House Car Park in Abere will host the annual Valentine Day Celebration for all state public servants. Table tennis, draft, ayo olopon, ludo, a dressing parade, a dancing competition, and questions and answers will all be on the program.

“The Head of Service is the Chief Host, and His Excellency Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State, is the Father of Love for the day. As a result, everyone on staff needs to be seated by 10:00 am.

“All Accounting Officers of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies and Heads of Non-Ministerial Agencies including Local Government as well as Local Council Development Authorities to comply and give the content of this circular wide publicity among their staff” is another request included in the circular.

However, some state residents who are concerned about the unusual circular have questioned Governor Adeleke's competence and seriousness in stirring up the state's affairs at this time.

“Finally, Osun state enters one chance with a dancing governor who has no clue on what governance is all about!” proclaimed a prominent state figure on Friday.
