Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke of Osun State has appointed Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare as his senior special assistant on entertainment, art, culture and tourism.

This was announced by Bakare via her Instagram handle on Friday, February 23. While pledging to deliver her best.

The award winning actress equally posted her pictures with Governor Adeleke, as she appreciated him for the opportunity offered to her to serve.

Her words: “Now an Honourable. Ya Allah, I am grateful to my new boss, Governor Ademola Jackson Adeleke, Imole Osun. Thank you for the trust and golden opportunity to serve. I pledge to deliver my best. So help me God.

According to Bakare, the new role started her political career. She also emphasized that a lot of work awaits her.

She added, Lot of work to be done. Shall we? The good people of Osun state and Nigeria in general. It’s literally a new dawn for me beginning my political career from here. God bless Nigeria.

It was gathered that this is not the first time a state governor would appoint a prominent actress as an aide on entertainment.

In 2017, former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello appointed Mercy Johnson-Okogie, as his senior special assistant on entertainment, arts and culture. However, the actress said she was not interested in active politics,  precisely being partisan due to her influence in the movie industry.
