The Finance Minister addresses the country on the update on Domestic Debt Exchange Program. After his address, some members of the house have raised concern about some of the statements he had made. Min. Samuel Abu Jinapor says for the first time in Ghana, The Government is broke.

“When you digest all this what does it mean?  What has the Finance Minister told the people of Ghana? Mr. Speaker, I'll sum it simply. If you evaluate what the Finance Minister is doing and evaluate what Nam 1 of Mensgold did the two are synonymous and the same. There is no difference. For the first time in the history of this country the Government is saying that they are so broke; the economy has been so mismanaged.

Mr. Speaker this is a serious matter. This is not an NDC matter. This is not an NPP matter. This is a national issue that needs to be addressed. For the first time let’s put it on record that we will all put our political parties aside and deal with it. If he doesn’t want to resign that is his own cup of tea because the problem is not just Ken Ofori Atta. The problem is Ken Ofori Atta, Bawumia and Akuffo Addo and Ofori Atta. Trilogy, these three are the problems of Ghana and problems don’t solve problems. Solutions solve problems. I compel the house to let Finance Minister exempt pensioners and bond holders from the Domestic Debt Exchange.”
