The warning comes as a response to what the APC perceives as the NNPP government's attempt to deflect from its subpar defense performance at the tribunal.
In a statement released in Kano by Malam Muhammad Garba, the former Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs and spokesperson for the Gawuna/Gari Campaign Council, the APC expressed concern over the deliberate effort of the Kano state government to discredit the tribunal chairman due to the anticipation of a possibly unfavorable final judgment.
The APC accuses the NNPP government of creating a fabricated story and misquoting Justice Azinge to falsely implicate the APC as the alleged bribe giver.
Garba pointed out that Justice Azinge did not specifically name any party when she revealed the alleged attempt to bribe a tribunal member by a senior lawyer. However, the NNPP government, in an attempt to defame the APC, attributed the bribe to the APC.
The former commissioner also criticized the Kano state government for filing an appeal while the tribunal proceedings are ongoing, suggesting that this action is an attempt to hinder the tribunal's proceedings and draw public sympathy if the government faces defeat.
Despite the ongoing legal battle, the APC reiterated its commitment to seeking legal redress and expressed confidence in eventually recovering what they believe to be their stolen mandate.
