Commemorating Democracy Day and 25 years of uninterrupted democracy, Nigerians have been congratulated by House of Representatives Speaker Rep. Tajudeen Abbas.

In a statement made on Wednesday to commemorate the day in Abuja, Abbas stated that more Nigerians will undoubtedly benefit from democracy.

He said that Nigeria had changed during the last 25 years and that democracy was now a permanent fixture in the country.

The speaker claimed that the nation has been adept at negotiating its learning curves.

He said that despite ongoing improvements, the country's democratic experience and practices had continued to expand.

According to Abbas, the fact that this year's celebration coincided with the 10th Assembly's one-year anniversary made it noteworthy in the history of the National Assembly.

On June 13, 2023, the 10th National Assembly was officially inaugurated.

Abbas urged Nigerians of all ages, genders, and tribes to keep making their fair share of contributions to the country's progress and prosperity.

He says that Nigeria would be a country of which its people would be proud.

He pleaded for Nigerians to uphold the law and to support their government at all levels.

The speaker further noted that everyone has a shared obligation to ensure that the government's plans, policies, and initiatives are successful, with the people serving as the essential stakeholders.
