The All Progressives Congress, (APC) Kebbi State chapter has expressed its confidence in clinching victory in the bye-election for the Shanga/Yauri/Ngaski Federal Constituency, as well as the rerun election in 25 polling units of the Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency, scheduled for February 3.
This was revealed by the governor after a meeting of APC critical stakeholders chaired by Governor Nasir Idris at the Presidential Lodge, Birnin Kebbi this Tuesday.
The party’s state Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the party, Alhaji Isa Assalafi, who confirmed this while speaking with journalists after the meeting, said Governor Idris summoned the meeting to adopt a holistic approach on consolidating victory at the polls.
According to him, “all stakeholders of the two federal Constituencies of the APC as well as other leaders of the party from all parts of the state attended the meeting aimed at finalizing strategies prelude to the bye and rerun election.
“We are highly confident of achieving victory in both Shanga/Yauri/Ngaski as well as Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituencies because history will repeat itself as the APC won both elections clean and square in the last general election.
‘”In addition, our leader of the APC in the state, Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu. has performed remarkably well that has endeared him into the hearts of the people as a benevolent and compassionate leader.
“We are not afraid of the opposition,” Assalafi said.
Speaking separately, some of the stakeholders, comprising the Chairman, Dandi Local Government, Hon. AbdulSalam Jibril, the Chairman, Arewa Local Government, Hon. Sani Aliyu Kulita , the Chairman, Yauri Local Government, Hon Bala Muhammad Gagga and the Commissioner for Health, Hon. Yunusa Musa Ismail, expressed confidence that the APC would triumph at the polls.
Among top personalities at the meeting were, the former Kebbi State Governor and Director General APC campaign Council, Alhaji Saidu Usman Nasamu Dakingari, the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana Zuru, Commissioners, Special Advisers and other party stalwarts.
