The second day of former president John Dramani Mahama's tour of the Bono Region has started. He will visit the Dormaa West, Dormaa Central, Dormaa East, Sunyani West, and Sunyani East seats today to campaign.
On his first day, Mr. Mahama traveled to Wenchi, Tain, Banda, Jaman North and South, Berekum West, and Berekum East where he met and spoke with branch and constituency executives, chiefs, and party supporters.
John Mahama is running for office in 2024 with the goal of guiding the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to victory. The former president thanked the party and executives in his remarks to the delegates for their backing and endorsement. Yet he pleaded with them to use the backing to get a sizable number of votes for him in the May 13, 2023, presidential primary.
The NDC presidential candidate and parliamentary candidates for the general elections of 2024 will be chosen at primaries held in constituencies throughout the nation.
Mr. Mahama gave the party, in particular the branch executives, his word that he would continue to fund the party's initiatives and actively lay the groundwork for a successful 2024 campaign.
Additionally, he gave the regional and constituency executives the responsibility of pledging to launch a successful campaign that targets the branches and to "make accessible to the branches campaign materials and logistics that are dispatched for the work."
