The Presidency has stated that organised labour should be grateful that Nigeria is not under military rule, emphasising that their demands are unreasonable.
According to President Bola Tinubu's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have a lot of freedom because Nigeria is not governed by a military administration.
Onanuga, who spoke on TVC, stated that to impose the nationwide strike, labour should not have shut down the national grid and airports.
Recall that in an effort to demand a better compensation package for the labour force of the country, organised labour went on strike on Monday, but once the Nigerian government and labour agreed to raise the minimum wage and carry on with more talks, the strike was called off.
The Government offered N60,000, while labour wanted N494,000; nevertheless, the terms of the agreement may require the latter to pay anything from N60,000 to N100,000.
However, Onanuga pleaded with the unions to make reasonable demands.
According to Onanuga, Labour should see itself as a collaborator, not an enemy, of the Federal Government.
