Bago Applauds Niger Assembly for Electing Leaders Amicably

He assured them of his willingness to work, to ensure understanding between the various arms of government across the state.

The Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umar Bago has applauded the members-elect of the state House of Assembly for amicably electing their leaders and ensuring a smooth take-off of the 10th Legislature.

He noted this when they paid him a congratulatory visit at the Security Chamber of the Government House in Minna, the Niger state capital.

Bago assured them of his willingness to work to ensure understanding between the various arms of government in the state.

Similarly, the Gov also said he will send 20 names of special advisers, in accordance with the provisions of the law, to the House for approval immediately after their inauguration.

He  said: “As a colleague, I understand the challenges of the legislature, and I am also abreast with the happenings at the state level. As a team, we will work assiduously to ensure that we understand ourselves.”

applauding the members-elect for electing their leaders without rancour, he stated: “You have shown maturity. You have resolved and have agreed to your words. All that we are going to do is perform the ritual of inaugurating the Assembly.”

The legislators-elect, led by Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji, the member representing Mariga Constituency, observed that the governor has started on a good footing with the calibre of people he has appointed.

They expressed confidence that his administration would succeed.
