The recent Court of Appeal victory of Osun State Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke has been characterized as a victory for democracy.

The assertion was made by Alhaji Salihu Magaji, Chairman of Arewa Youths for the Preservation of Democracy and Good Governance.

Salisu Magaji stated that the appellate court's decision was a resounding affirmation of the expressed will of the people of Osun State in their quest for purposeful leadership and good governance in the State when he addressed journalists at a Press Conference over the weekend in Bauchi.

It should be recalled that the Court of Appeal on Friday confirmed Ademola Adeleke's victory in the Governorship election on July 16, 2022, despite the earlier decision of the elections tribunal to remove him.

He stated that the jubilation in Osun State and other Federal States was evidence that Ademola Adeleke's election represented not only the aspiration of the majority of Osun State residents but also that of millions of supporters of democracy nationwide.

The Arewa Youth Chairman also stated that Ademola Adeleke has continued to demonstrate uncommon capacity for purposeful governance as evidenced by his people-oriented and result-driven developmental projects in line with the yearnings and aspirations of the people since his inauguration in November 2022.

He thanked Governor Ademola Adeleke and urged him to keep repositioning Osun State and providing the people of the state with the breath of fresh air that they had been lacking under the disastrous APC administration.

Salisu Magaji added that the verdict has once more reaffirmed the Nigerian people's faith in the country's judiciary.

He claimed that: Ademola Adeleke was found not guilty by the verdict, which made it abundantly clear that the people's will prevailed and that the truth is constant and cannot be concealed.

He asserted, "The achievements of President Buhari and the National Assembly on electoral reforms have come to stay." The verdict demonstrates that the judiciary is still the majority's only hope.
