Last Saturday’s Governorship Primary Election in Edo state has been declared inconclusive by the National Working Committee NWC of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.
The decision was made following an emergency meeting of the NWC late on Tuesday.
After the meeting, which lasted for about three hours, APC spokesman, Felix Morka addressed newsmen, stating, "The NWC has resolved that the Edo State governorship primary election is incomplete and has scheduled Thursday, February 22, 2024, for its completion."
Babatunde Ojo, along with the local Government returning officers for the primary election, declared Anamero Dekeri, a serving house of Representatives member, winner of the exercise on Saturday.
Also, the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee, and Imo state Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma declared Dennis Idahosa, another federal lawmaker, as the winner of the exercise.
On his part, the Returning Officer of the exercise, Stanley Ugboaja, announced Senator Monday Okpebholo as the winner of the same exercise.
The three “candidates” have since requested that the NWC provide them with a Certificate of Return.
