Akwa Ibom Governor Appoints SSG, Chief Press Secretary

Others appointed include, Otobong Edemidiong as chief protocol officer, Anietie Usen as Senior Special Assistant on media and publicity ,Uduak Inam as the governor's economic adviser.

Enobong Uwah, a former state commissioner for environment, was named as the new secretary to the state government (SSG) by Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno on Tuesday.

Before being appointed, Mr. Uwah served as the authority's chairman for the development of Uyo Capital City. He served as the governor's campaign organization's secretary.

In the same vein, Nathaniel Adiakpan, the Permanent Secretary of Government House, named Ekerete Udo the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor in a statement on Tuesday.

After working for Mr. Eno's predecessor, Udom Emmanuel, for eight years in the same position, Mr. Udo is rejoining the government.

Anietie Usen, a journalist with numerous awards, technocrat, and author of the best-selling book "Village Boy," has been listed in the statement as the governor's senior special assistant for media and publicity.

Mr. Usen has decades of journalism experience, having started off as a reporter for the Punch newspaper and also as a pioneer reporter for the Newswatch Magazine before moving up quickly to become the general editor.

He was the chief of corporate communications at the Niger Delta Development Commission in Port Harcourt as well as the general manager of Akwa Ibom Newspaper Corporation, Uyo, the publisher of the Pioneer Newspaper.

Mr. Usen oversaw media relations and public relations for the governor's campaign organization.

Otobong Edemidiong as chief protocol officer and Uduak Inam as the governor's economic adviser are two further appointments.
