Chief Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, the leader of Afenifere, a pan-Yoruba socio-cultural and socio-political organisation, has endorsed the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration's decision to extend complete autonomy to all 774 local government areas in the nation.
This was part of a congratulatory message celebrating President Tinubu's first year in office.
The statement was signed by Comrade Jare Ajayi, the Afenifere National Publicity Secretary.
Ajayi quoted Pa Fasoranti as expressing joy in several courageous initiatives made by the President in the previous year to reposition Nigeria effectively.
The nonanegarian stated that the government's policies had the potential to revitalise the country's economy and reduce mutual animosity among its ethnic nationalities.
According to Ajayi, the Leader praised Tinubu's administration's efforts to free local governments from the stranglehold of state governors saying, It is undeniable that local government is the closest to the citizens. For it is through it that people at the grassroots may truly feel the effects of the government.
While expressing hope that the government's actions will soon alleviate Nigerians' suffering, Fasoranti urged President Tinubu to focus on facilities such as security, power and transportation, among others.
