The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has unveiled plans to bolster security measures in Abuja through the acquisition of drones.

This announcement came during a visit to Abuja on Thursday, where the Consul-General of the Hungarian Embassy in Nigeria, Endre Deri, was present. Wike talked about the importance of security in the capital, noting its prominence in President Bola Tinubu's "Renewed Hope" agenda.

He emphasized that the efforts invested in enhancing security infrastructure have already yielded positive results, leading to a noticeable reduction in insecurity incidents.

Addressing the audience, Wike stated, "Abuja is safer now, because of the way we have been able to tackle the issue." He further elaborated on the significance of the procurement of drones, highlighting their potential to augment existing security measures and ensure a safer environment for residents and visitors alike.

The initiative reflects the FCT Administration's commitment to safeguarding the capital and maintaining its status as a secure and thriving metropolitan area. With the deployment of advanced technological solutions such as drones, authorities aim to further fortify the security apparatus and address emerging security challenges effectively.
