Adeyeye, who was reinstated in 2022, completed his studies in the Department of Building and has now obtained his degree. He, along with other student activists, was suspended for his involvement in the April 6 and 8, 2016 protests that led to the shutdown of the university and the subsequent indefinite suspension of the UNILAG Students Union.
In addition to organizing the protests, Adeyeye faced accusations of criticizing the institution's leadership in a Facebook article titled "The Senate of the University of Lagos; a conglomeration of academic ignorami." He questioned their ability to handle situations in a democratic manner.
Adeyeye proudly shared his sign-out pictures on his Facebook page, standing at attention while wearing a white shirt with the inscription, "It needed attention, and I gave it full. To continue the big things. Grateful."
During his suspension, UNILAG authorities also alleged that Adeyeye led a group called the "Save UNILAG Coalition," comprising members from the National Association of Nigerian Students, to disrupt the activities of the Dean of Student Affairs' office on March 31, 2016.
The university, in a statement, clarified that the actions taken against Adeyeye and other student leaders were not a result of their involvement in the campus protests, but rather because they were found to have violated certain regulations outlined in the university's 2015-2016 student information handbook.
