On Friday, the Presidential Election Petitions Court, PEC, sitting in Abuja, admitted certified copies of President Bola Tinubu's academic credentials as evidence.

The five-member panel, chaired by Justice Haruna Tsammani, also accepted Tinubu's certificate of service from Mobile Oil Nigeria Plc, which was part of his employment records, as well as a copy of his Guinean passport, as admissible evidence and designated as an exhibit.

A human rights advocate and public interest lawyer named Mike Enahoro-Ebah presented the documents to the court. Enahoro-Ebah was an important witness in the petition that PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar filed to have the results of the election that took place on February 25 annulled.

The 27th witness in the case, Enahoro-Ebah, testified in court that he applied for and was given the Form EC9, which contained the affidavit of personal information that Tinubu submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to support his eligibility to run for president.

In order to learn more about the second respondent, Tinubu, he told the court that his lawyer in the United States of America, USA, also wrote to several of the colleges that he claimed to have attended.

The witness, who was introduced as evidence by Atiku's lead attorney, Chief Chris Uche, SAN, informed the court that among the documents he brought back from the USA was Tinubu's alleged certificate from Chicago State University, which he said belonged to a female.

The witness also presented a transcript from South West College, issued in 1977, which he claimed similarly proved that Tinubu attended Chicago State University and was a girl.

He testified before the court that even though the forwarding letter from his attorney in the United States, which contained Tinubu's information, arrived on November 1, 2022, he did not receive a copy of the notarized ruling on the criminal asset forfeiture proceedings involving the 2nd Respondent until April 2023.

Additionally, the witness said before the court that records he got from INEC showed that the name Adekunle appeared on the National Youth Service Corps, or NYSC, certificate Tinubu provided as evidence of his qualifications.
