The nominees in question are Dr. Jamila Bio, Balarebe Abbas, and Ayodele Olawale Olawande. This move follows a prior report from Vanguard in September, wherein it was disclosed that Tinubu had nominated Dr. Ibrahim to assume the role of Minister of Youth, a nomination pending the Senate's confirmation. Furthermore, he appointed Mr. Olawande as the Minister of State for Youth.
These announcements were conveyed through a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity.
The statement elaborated on Dr. Ibrahim's credentials, describing her as a "young medical doctor" who most recently held the position of President at the Progressive Young Women Forum (PYWF). Her background also includes service as the Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Additionally, it revealed that Mr. Ayodele Olawande, nominated as the Minister of State for Youth, brings with him a wealth of experience as a community development expert and a prominent youth leader within the governing All Progressives Congress (APC). From 2019 to 2023, he had served in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation.
