The House of Representatives sends back the Service Chiefs' representatives, stating that the chiefs must come before it on November 21 as summoned.

Speaker Rep. Tajudeen Abbas made this announcement, Following the chiefs' representatives' arrival at plenary on Thursday.

Abbas thanked the representatives for coming into the chamber and urged them to inform the Service Chiefs that they should appear on Nov. 21 at 11 a.m.

The House had called the service chiefs to discuss the country's security challenges.

However, lawmakers discovered that the service chiefs did not attend in person and instead sent representatives to speak on their behalf.

Rep. Benjamin Kalu, rising on the constitutional order, stated that the constitution empowers the House to invite anyone, not just for investigation but also for dialogue.

He claimed that the service chiefs should have appeared in front of the House rather than sending representatives.

“It is not satisfactory that they are not here in person. I want to move that these sectoral engagements be suspended until the service chiefs come to address us personally,” he said.
