The individual in question has been identified as Ogbaugu David Uka, also known as Pastor Davison or Iwu. Residing in Bangalore, the accused allegedly made frequent trips to Hyderabad to supply narcotics to local peddlers.
A Nigerian citizen, Ogbaugu David Uka (also known as Pastor Davison), has been arrested in India on narcotics-related charges. Indian security forces apprehended Pastor Davison (also known as Iwu) on Wednesday, August 16, in possession of 264 elation pills, as reported by The Hindu. The estimated value of the pills is ₹10.56 lakh, according to The New Indian Express.
The 58-year-old individual had been portraying himself as a pastor in Bengaluru, Karnataka, using a false identity. Additionally, he held the position of chairman of the All India Nigerian Students and Community Association.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, C.V. Anand, stated, "His property and belongings are worth about ₹4 crore. We are making efforts to have them all seized." He further added, "He used to frequently travel to Hyderabad. In the recent past, seven of his peddlers were arrested in two different crimes registered at Kachiguda and KPHB."
In response to the news, Nigerians shared their reactions. Adebayo Ayodele expressed, "They are just bent on destroying the country's image."
